NEW DELHI: Lack of proper training, unsupervised maintenance and the airline not adhering to “basic maintenance practices” led to the death of a SpiceJet technician while servicing an aircraft at Kolkata airport on July 9, says a DGCA probe into the accident that claimed the life of 22-year-old Rohit Pandey when he got stuck in a Bombardier Q400’s main landing gear door. The DGCA had set up a panel to probe the case .
“Action to address the shortcomings, including action against those responsible for the incident, will be taken by DGCA,” a senior DGCA official said.
