Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission today announced cut in power tariff for the fiscal year 2019-20. Giving a relief to power consumers, DERC has made big reduction in the fixed charges.
The fixed charges have been revised across all the categories. For up to 2 kw connection, the charges have been reduced currently Rs 125 to Rs 20; for 2-5 kw, from Rs 140 to Rs 50; and for 5-15 kw, the charges have been cut from Rs 175 to Rs 100.
However, eper unit charges were remained unchanged for those consuming up to 1200 units in the domestic category. But above 1200 units, the charges have marginally increased from Rs 7.75/kWh to Rs 8/kWh
The cut will result in monthly saving of Rs 105 for consumer having 1kW connections, for 2 kw consumers the saving would be Rs 210, 3 kw Rs 270, 4 kw
Rs 360, 5kW & 6kW ₹450, 7kW ₹525
Last year, the fixed charges were increased across all slabs — for 2-5 kw, from Rs 35 to Rs 140; for 5-15 KW, from Rs 45 to Rs 175; for 15-25 kw, from Rs 60 to Rs 200; and for more than 25 KW, from Rs 100 to Rs 250.
