NEW DELHI: It took almost two decades for its construction. The 1.8-km Rani Jhansi Flyover starts near St. Stephen’s Hospital in north Delhi and goes up to the Filmistan cinema hall. The elevated road was meant to decongest a perennially gridlocked stretch and was finally completed and open for the public in 2018.
On Wednesday, TOI found that the ride on this flyover was bumpy because of the old expansion joints. The central verge was poorly maintained with almost no greenery to talk of. The walls of the flyover are dirty and there are several potholes on the upward and downward ramps of the flyover.
