Delhi witnessed an all-time-high winter peak power demand as consumption crossed the 5,700-MW mark on Friday amid plummeting temperature and cold wave.
Data from the State Load Dispatch Centre showed peak demand at 5,701 MW at 10:50 AM on Friday, breaking the previous record on Wednesday of 5,611 MW. Peak power demand during winter months till last year was 5526 MW, recorded on January 6.
