NEW DELHI: It was around 11.50 am on Tuesday when Sarai Rohilla (railways) police station received a call that a body was lying on the track in Mangolpuri. A police team reached the spot and found the body of a 45-year-old man with his head crushed. Officers said the man was crossing the track and was hit by a train that was going to Old Delhi railway station.
According to recent data of Delhi Police, 358 people died till September 15 this year while they were crossing railway tracks in the city. “They included 329 men and 29 women. Last year, 410 people, including 42 women, died,” the data shows.
