Delhi rains: Heavy rains in the national capital on Thursday evening resulted in water logging, heavy as also the suspension of flight operations at the Delhi airport for a few minutes. There were reports of hailstorm in some parts of the national capital. According to the Met office, there was a low-pressure area over Haryana, due to which heavy rains occurred the National Capital Region.
The rainfall lasted for close to two hours, resulting in water logging in several parts of the city. Even as Safdurjung observatory recorded 35.2 millimetres rain, Palam observatory witnessed 20 millimetres. The met office termed the rainfall “moderate”.
While the minimum recorded was 23.8 degrees Celsius, the maximum was 34.8 degree as was recorded at 5:30 pm in the evening on Thursday evening. The humidity level shifted between 83 and 55 per cent.
The heavy showers also brought down the temperature as delighted denizens took to Twitter to share pictures and videos of the rain.
