When India’s first regional high-speed eco-friendly Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System RAPIDX train services will hit the tracks, which is any time soon, it will simultaneously break the ceilings in the male gender dominated transport sector by ensuring equal participation of women.
The 17 km long primary section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is going to be commissioned for the public very soon. It is learnt that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Sahibad-Duhai section this month.
Touted as a game changer, it will be showcasing women empowerment as train operators appointed to operate RAPIDX trains in the priority section will have more female operators than male operators.
