The Delhi High Court on Thursday asked SpiceJet Ltd and its chairman Ajay Singh as to why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against them for “violation and wilful non-compliance” of its orders for payment of an arbitration award that former promoter Kalanithi Maran and KAL Airways won against them in 2018.
The HC had on July 31 upheld the arbitral award that asked SpiceJet to refund Rs 579 crore with interest accrued to Maran in a seven-year-old share transfer dispute.
