The proposed ban by the Delhi government on buses not running on CNG or electric or adhering to the BSVI diesel emission standard entering the national capital is at present put on hold.
According to a government source, the proposed ban which was expected to be put in place as a means to curb air pollution has been put on hold.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) had taken significant steps to combat the deteriorating air quality in the National Capital Region (NCR). It had announced the activation of Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), an emergency action plan designed to address severe air pollution, with immediate effect in the NCR.
