NEW DELHI: Facing the prospect of getting its advertisement fund attached by the Supreme Court for not giving its agreed share of money for the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project, the Delhi government on Monday agreed before the court to make budgetary allocation for it and clear the backlog in instalments, the first one of Rs 415 crore within two weeks.
The sharp about-turn came at a hearing where, right at the outset, a bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Himanshu Dhulia made it clear to Delhi government that it would have to either pay the amount for the crucial connectivity project or see the court attach the fund meant for advertisements.
