NEW DELHI: Days after the Delhi government approved a proposal to conduct a special audit of power distribution companies, sources in Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) said it will wait for the terms of reference from the power department.
Sources said the commission will also seek clarity from the government that the decision to conduct the special audit was not in violation of any instruction of the Supreme Court, which is already hearing a case involving audit of discoms.
After the approval of the Delhi government and the LG earlier this month, the power department issued an order to DERC for a special audit of the electricity subsidy amount paid to the discoms between financial year 2016-17 and 2021-22 by a CAG-empanelled auditor.
