NEW DELHI: Delhi will soon have the country’s largest fleet of electric buses with LG VK Saxena and CM Arvind Kejriwal jointly flagging off 400 new buses from Indraprastha Depot on September 5.
With the addition of these vehicles, the total number of electric buses in the Delhi Transport Corporation’s fleet will go up to 800. The number of public buses running in Delhi under DTC and cluster scheme will also increase to nearly 7,200, officials said.
Sources said 200 of these buses have already been running in Delhi for a couple of months but were not flagged off officially.
