New Delhi: A disabled aircraft recovery (DAR) kit has been commissioned for usage at Delhi Airport, in accordance with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) directions, airport operator Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said on Monday.
A DAR Kit is used to recover an aircraft, which is unable to move under its own power or through the normal use of an appropriate tow tractor and tow bar. The mobile DAR has been procured from Germany-based M/S Kunz and is capable of fully recovering narrow-body aircraft, including the A320 and 737, and carrying out one-sided recovery of wide-body aircraft within a short span of time.
