MUMBAI: Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said in the legislative council that activists who opposed the oil refinery project in Ratnagiri’s Barsu travelled often to Bengaluru and money was being transferred into their accounts from Bengaluru.
Fadnavis said they were the same activists who were involved in Aarey protests, bullet train protests and even the Narmada protests. Fadnavis said due to the delay in the Barsu project, the oil company which was to come to Barsu was now investing in Pakistan.
April saw protests by thousands of villagers against the proposed Ratnagiri Refinery and Petrochemicals complex in Rajapur taluka’s Barsu area in Ratnagiri district.
