BENGALURU: A 29-year-old data engineer was arrested for allegedly trying to open the emergency door of an aircraft on a Paris-Bengaluru flight in the wee hours of July 16. Accused Venkat Mohit Pathipati from Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh works as a data engineer in a US grocery company and was flying to Bengaluru to visit his aunt living in Nagawara, off Ballari Road.
A staffer from Air France filed a complaint with Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) police that Pathipati tried to open the left rear emergency door. Cops registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Pathipati under Aircraft Rules-1937 and IPC 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others). He was released on police station bail.
