Crude oil prices on Monday rose by Rs 37 to Rs 8,548 per barrel as participants widened positions on a firm spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for May delivery traded higher by Rs 37 or 0.43 per cent at Rs 8,548 per barrel in 7,239 lots.
Analysts said the raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade. Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down by 0.83 per cent at USD 109.57 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 1.19 per cent lower at USD 110.22 per barrel in New York.
