While rejecting the anticipatory bail pleas of four directors of Ajay Engi-Infrastructure Private Limited (AEIPL), the Gujarat High Court has observed in its order the possibility of the firm colluding with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) “can’t be denied at this stage” and that its hopes that the investigating agency will take this aspect into consideration. AEIPL was awarded the tender and contract for the Hatkeshwar Bridge which began to break within four years of its inauguration.
The Hatkeshwar bridge that was thrown open to the public in 2017 is set to be demolished after cracks were reported on the structure.
