The Delhi Pollution Control Committee has directed all civic bodies and the Delhi Development Authority to map illegal industrial units operating from non-conforming areas and close them with immediate effect.
The city’s pollution watchdog has also asked the discoms and the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to disconnect electricity supply and water connections to such units.
“All the municipal corporations, local bodies and DDA have been directed to carry out a survey and map industries operating from residential areas functioning without proper municipal licences. This is being done so that they could be closed down,” said a senior DPCC official.
