Chennai: Demanding the Central Government to withdraw the proposed hydrocarbon project in the State, the CPI (M) has decided to hold meeting in Delta region to raise awareness among the people about the adverse impact to be posed by it.
In a resolution passed in a meeting of District Secretaries of CPI (M) in Chennai on Tuesday, the party has stated that if the project implemented the Delta region would become unfit for cultivation and agricultural activities. The highly fertile region would become a desert and the project aimed helping Vedanta firm, which would implement it in state.
