Amid the scare caused by the coronavirus outbreak in China, Air India special flight will today depart from Delhi airport to Wuhan for the evacuation of Indians trapped in the region. Air India’s 423-seater jumbo B747 plane will depart from Delhi airport at 12.30 pm.
“The national carrier once again comes to the rescue – this time to evacuate Indians from Wuhan, the site of the outbreak of coronavirus. This mission begins today with a Jumbo 747 operating between Delhi and Wuhan,” Air India spokesperson Ashwani Lohani said in a tweet.
India on Thursday reported its first case of the China virus in Kerala. An Indian student of Wuhan University in China tested positive in Kerala, the health ministry said. The first case of coronavirus was reported in Wuhan city of China in December and since then the virus is spreading swiftly across the world.
