A policeman and a labourer were electrocuted in north Kashmir on Friday.
A police official said 32-year-old Hilal Ahmed Bhat who was working as Constable in IRP 16th Battalion and was attached with Police Control Room Srinagar received an electric shock at his home in Wanigam Payeen area of Pattan.
“The shock left him unconscious. He was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead,” said the official. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Shahnawaz Ahmad Mir, son of Muhammad Akbar Mir of Langerpora area of Bandipora district died on the spot in his home after he received an electric shock while repairing a wire. The deceased was a labourer by profession, police said.
