Sources in the Gwalior Airport said that the expansion work of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport and the construction of a new terminal building will be completed within the next couple of months. This is earlier than the scheduled time for completion. The foundation stone of this expansion and construction work was laid by Home Minister Amit Shah on October 16, 2022.
The new terminal building will be spread over 20,230 square meters as against the existing 3,500 square meter terminal. The new terminal is expected to accommodate more than 1400 passengers even during peak hours. The newly constructed terminal building will have the capacity to serve 1.5 million passengers in a year
