Congress workers, leaders, friends and relatives of Sheila Dikshit remembered her as an affable person who gave the best advice in hour of need, a concerned chief minister who worked to make the Capital green and developed the city by constructing a web of flyovers. She is also remembered for caring everyone above party politics.
Vinnet Tyagi, 42, a Congress supporter, said “It is difficult to believe that she has left us. She was like my mother. “She treated everyone with dignity and respect. We have lost a greatest leader of contemporary India,” he said.
“This was my way of paying my last respects to her. She would meet every party worker like a mother meets her children. She gave everything to the city in her 15-year tenure as Delhi chief minister,” Rita Verma, a party worker said.
