The Mysuru-Bengaluru expressway, which was inaugurated last week and where toll collection started on Tuesday, is in the eye of the storm after reports emerged of the “ “road being repaired”, even as officials and Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha denied any damage to the highway.
Photos that surfaced online showed road work near the Bidadi bypass, where a flyover was seen damaged. Some also claimed that half of the road was barricaded, leading to a traffic jam.
The Congress attacked the ruling BJP asking why the road was inaugurated if the work was incomplete. “Why should people pay for roads which have problems?” the party tweeted.
