BENGALURU: Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday asked BMRCL to expedite Metro work.
Speaking to reporters after witnessing the breakthrough of TBM Urja at Shivajinagar, he directed officials to complete the entire Metro Phase 2 by 2024 instead of 2025.
“BMRCL officials should make all preparations to reschedule completion of Metro Phase 2 by 2024,” he said, advising them to ramp up manpower. “I will be personally supervising the progress,” he added.
“Metro would be the lifeline of Bengaluru when all three phases are complete. This will reduce the load on the road,” he said. Metro’s expansion till the airport will be taken up soon.
