Leading state-owned oil marketing firms, including Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, have announced a price increase of up to Rs 101.5 for 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders in India’s four major cities, effective today.
This marks the second adjustment in commercial LPG prices within a span of two months.
Following this revision, the price for a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been set at Rs 1,833, up from its previous rate of Rs 1,731. Prices in other metros have also been adjusted with Mumbai at Rs 1,785.50, Kolkata at Rs 1,943, and Chennai at Rs 1,999.50 per cylinder.
To put this into perspective, just last month, after a rate increase of Rs 209, these cylinders were priced at Rs 1,684 in Mumbai, Rs 1,839.50 in Kolkata, and Rs 1,898 in Chennai.
LPG, a versatile fuel, is widely used for motoring, cooking, heating, refrigeration, and some advanced industrial applications in India.
