KOLKATA: Coal stocks at power plants have improved considerably with the number of plants holding critical stocks is down to one from 33 in October.
From the time when some plants ran out of fuel, the only one with critical stocks now is GMR’s Warora plant, which has enough coal to run for four days.
A senior Coal IndiaNSE 0.47 % executive said the plant was running at more than 90% capacity, and that stocks were down because of logistical issues. “Two rakes are being sent every day and they are managing,” he said.
