The government is expediting allocation of all remaining identified coal mines through auctions. Recently, in past few months some auction process or other was on for coal mines. In fact, three different auction processes were happening at the same time. For an auction process invited in September 2021, the results were being finalised in December. An auction process was invited in October 2021, and its technical bids were opened in December 2021. Yet another auction process was initiated in December 2021. All these auctions also include those coal mines which have found no bidder or had a single bidder for a mine in the previous auction process.
