Kolkata: Spurred by increased appetite for coal from non-power sector, Coal India’s (CIL) overall off-take went up by 8% during November this year compared to same month a year ago. Supply to non-power sector was up by 46% during the month.
The coal behemoth has said that its off-take was 51.3 million tonne (MT) in November of the ongoing fiscal, an increase of 3.8 MT compared to 47.5 MT of same month last year. Sectors other than power accounted for the entire increase. Coal output at 51.7 MT during the referred month clocked a growth of 3.3% with 1.7 MT uptick in absolute terms.
CIL produced 50 MT in November, 2019. MCL with 19.7% growth and CCL with 10.3% growth were ahead of other CIL arms. tnn
