Average tariff of last 6 months Wind & Solar Power auctions is Rs 2.83/unit
The average tariff for T the last six months for solar projects is Rs 2.83 per unit (table-1 at pg 33), whereas it is Rs 2.84 per unit for wind power (table-2 at pg 32). The per unit tariff for solar power project with battery banks is Rs 4.11.
Facing intense competition from solar and wind power plants, the coal based thermal plants have also started offering lower tariffs.
Recently, a dozen of power plant companies like Adani Power, Jindal Power, GMR Energy and Essar Power have quoted Rs 3.26 per unit tariff for power supply to states, the lowest bid from coalbased power projects in years.
