Asansol: Vikas Mishra, an accused in the illegal coal mining case, was sent to judicial custody till January 5 by the special CBI court on Wednesday.
Mishra, who is the brother of former Trinamool Congress leader Vinay Mishra, had been granted interim bail on health grounds but CBI pleaded for its cancellation and got the court’s nod to arrest him.
Burdwan Correctional Home, where he had received treatment, on Wednesday told the court that he was still at SSKM Hospital in Kolkata. “CBI pleaded to transfer him to AIIMS at Kalyani or New Delhi, but the judge did not pass any order for that,” said Somnath Chattaraj, Mishra’s lawyer.
