Kolkata: The CID has summoned 10 policemen posted with Bengal Police in its ongoing probe into the coal smuggling case.
Three of them — presently posted as circle inspectors and ICs at Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, Chandannagar Police Commissionerate and East Midnapore district police — appeared before the investigating agency on Thursday. While three more will be examined on Friday, the rest were asked to report to Bhawani Bhawan on Saturday.
Sources said all those summoned were posted with the Asansol Commissionerate in the past seven years. “The focus is mainly on officers posted in Jamuria, Raniganj and Asansol,” said a senior officer.
