NEW DELHI: A day after raising price of natural gas, the Centre on Friday hiked price of compressed natural gas (CNG) by 80 paise in the national capital.
With this, the cost of CNG in Delhi now stands at Rs 60.81 per kg, up from Rs 60.01 per kg earlier.
This is the 6th time that price of CNG has been hiked in the last 1 month. The total hike now stands at Rs 4 per kg.
The price rise was expected after the government raised the price of gas produced from local fields to a record $6.10 per million British thermal unit from $2.9. This in turn pushed up the input cost for Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) — the firm which retails CNG and piped cooking gas in the national capital.
