The construction of a one-km stretch between Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk and Kunjpura near Sector 9 here has been in limbo for the last one year due to lack of coordination between the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) and Forest Department.
It is an ambitious project of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar which will connect the Meerut road with Kunjpura road but due to the unavailability of land for the stretch, the project is hanging fire.
The HSVP had approached the Forest Department, which had sent the case to the Union Environment Ministry. Later, the ministry gave a conditional nod to transfer the land to the HSVP. The first condition was of depositing Rs20 lakh to the department and the second was of providing the same land to the department for plantation along with its mutation.
