CHENNAI: Chennai Metro Rail Ltd has prepared a detailed feasibility report on building appropriate mass rapid transit system lines in Tirunelveli, Trichy and Salem. The report was submitted to the Tamil Nadu government on Thursday.
The report envisages appropriate two-corridor mass rapid transit system network for 45km in Trichy, a three-corridor network of 39.07km in Tirunelveli and a two-corridor network of 35.19km lines in Salem.
The lines and the number of stations were firmed up based on the urban transport requirement of these cities in the next 30 years as per population growth.
