Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed his sincere gratitude to the Supreme Court for agreeing to hear the petition of the State Government against the auction of Coal blocks. The Chief Minister said that the State government is committed to an overall development safeguarding environment, forests and the forest dwelling communities.
The Government of Jharkhand had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the auctioning of Coal blocks. The Supreme Court has given consent for hearing. The Supreme Court has directed the Centre to file reply on Jharkhand’s plea against coal block auctioning for commercial mining within four weeks.
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon has said that the State is expected to get justice soon against the Central government’s decision of commercial mining in the coal sector.
