MUMBAI: Chalet Hotels, owned by billionaire real estate developer CL Raheja, has become a signatory to Climate Group’s net zero carbon pledge. It is among the global list of over 500 companies that have joined Climate Group’s initiatives to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Climate Group is an international non-profit organisation focusing on climate change.
Chalet is in the process of putting in place measurable benchmarks to monitor its carbon footprint even as it has taken steps to lower greenhouse gas emissions. It has reduced procurement of electricity generated via fossil fuels and has shifted to sourcing green power.
It has also lowered overall energy consumption by investing in energy efficient devices, automation and in the latest technology.
