Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Adesh Gupta alleged that the Delhi Government is involved in a scam of Rs 1,131 crore in collusion with power companies in the name of subsidy and fixed charge in electricity bills.
Addressing the media, Gupta slammed the Kejriwal Government saying the Government has only been cheating on waiving and reducing half of the electricity bill. “In reality, the Kejriwal Government is engaged in benefiting power companies in collusion,” he said.
“The data of bills received from RWA of Delhi and complaints received from citizens showed that when the power companies were unable to take meter reading during the lockdown, consumers received electricity bills for almost 94 days in these electricity bills consumption is also shown per month, but in the month where the consumption is less than 200 and 400 units, subsidy was not provided to the consumer,” he said.
