Coal India’s (CIL) supplies to coal-fired power plants of the country rose 23% to 441.4 million tonnes (MTs) during April-January of FY’22 compared to 358.2 MT despatch of corresponding period last year.
The company expects to surpass the previous high of 491MTs supplied to thermal power plants in FY’19. CIL is also aiming to overtake the ongoing fiscal’s off-take target of 548 MTs to power sector, a senior executive said.
