CHENNAI: Owing to the G-20 working group meeting on disaster risk reduction, police have warned people against flying drones in core areas of the city. The meet is to take place in Chennai and Mahabalipuram from July 23 to 26. Foreign delegates will be staying in hotels such as ITC Grand Chola in Guindy, and Sheraton Grand in Mahabalipuram.
In view of security reasons, the areas around the place of stay/visit and the routes to be travelled by the foreign dignitaries have been declared as “red zone”.
Flying of drone cameras and other unmanned aerial objects have been banned from June 23 to 26.
