The Central Railway is set to operate 18 special long-distance trains to and from Mumbai, along with 12 additional local services, in anticipation of the surge in visitors to the city on December 6, marking B R Ambedkar’s death anniversary, Mahaparinirvan Din.
The scheduled operations include 18 special long-distance trains (eight towards Mumbai) and 10 departing from Mumbai, alongside 12 supplementary suburban services, facilitating the movement of people from various locations on December 5 and 6.
Detailed security measures put in place
To manage the increased influx, the Central Railway has deployed extra Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel, especially at Dadar and other key stations in Mumbai.
