MUMBAI: The Central Railway (CR) has sought guidelines from the state government on issuance of one-day journey and season tickets to students as many wish to travel by trains to and from their educational institutions.
In the absence of a standard operating procedure (SOPs) from the state, both Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) have not been issuing any season or daily tickets to students. The state government has opened schools for classes 8 and 12. A majority of these students are under 18 years of age.
In a letter to the state government’s disaster management authority undersecretary, CR’s senior divisional commercial manager Gaurav Jha wrote:
