MUMBAI: Central Railway (CR) undertook a mega block of five hours on Harbour line on Sunday for installing girders of Sandhurst Road bridge.
“The bridge is about 100 years old and was constructed in 1923. It used to be a ballasted deck slab which was replaced by channel sleepers in 1987. Installing girders for the bridge rail bridge was proposed because of its corroded condition and wear and tear,” said CR chief spokesperson Shivaji Sutar.
