An MoU worth Rs 441 lakh was signed between Central Coalfields Limited and Institute of Forest Productivity at CCL HQ, Darbhaga House, Ranchi. Institute of Forest Productivity. (IFP) is a research institute located in Ranchi under Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt. of India with an expertise in ecological reclamation of overburden dumps and mined out areas. Chief Manager (Environment), CCL Alok Kumar Tripathy and Dr Nitin Kulkarni, (Director), IFP inked the MOU.
Under the terms of MoU, a scientific study will be undertaken for Development of methodology for conservation and utilization of soil and transplantation of native ecosystem for mine site restoration.
