Gali Sridhar, General Manager (Technical) of National Highways Authority of India Limited (NHAI), Madurai, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch of Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday for demanding a bribe for official favours.
The team also arrested Sudhakar Vaduppu and Pawan of NSS Infrastructure and his relative Sai Prasad.
The accused officer demanded and accepted illegal gratification of Rs. 27 lakh for clearing the bills of M/s. NSS Infrastructure pertaining to the ongoing work on NH 7 Madurai-Kanyakumari stretch of Tamil Nadu, a press release said.
