Indian Railways got a major leg up under the PM Gati Shakti project with finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, announcing development of 400 new Vande Bharat trains and 100 cargo terminals over the next three years besides enhancing its logistics services.
“Railways will develop new products and efficient logistics services for small farmers and small and medium enterprises, besides taking the lead in integration of postal and railways networks to provide seamless solutions for movement of parcels,” the finance minister said while presenting the Union Budget 2022-23 on Tuesday.
