NEW DELHI: A 24-year-old man died of electrocution while working out at a gym in Rohini on Tuesday evening. The owner of the gym has been arrested. Police said preliminary reports suggest he was electrocuted by one of the treadmills.
Saksham Pruthi, a B.Tech graduate, worked with a Gurgaon-based firm and lived in Rohini Sector 19 with his parents and 21-year-old sister.
According to police, Pruthi had just finished lifting weights and was sitting on the ground to rest when his hand touched a treadmill and he got electrocuted. Initial probe has revealed the treadmill’s side bar and panel were made of metal, not plastic, enabling the flow of current from the machine to his body.
