Finally, the Amritsar Municipal Corporation has commenced maintenance works of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor. Earlier, the corridor was under the Public Works Department. After the intervention of the Mayor, the MC took over the project.
The poor condition of the BRTS corridor gave a wrong impression to those visiting the holy city. Moreover, the broken grills often led to accidents. Wild grass on the BRTS corridor obstructed the vision and movement of commuters. Missing sign boards and reflectors also led to accidents. As a result, the MC has started with painting of grills and road signs.
