The Indian market closed in the red on Wednesday, falling for two days in a row. The S&P BSE Sensex fell nearly 300 points while the Nifty50 closed below 19,400 levels.
Sectorally, buying was seen in IT and FMCG stocks while metal, public sector, realty, and power stocks saw some selling pressure.
Stocks in focus on Wednesday included names like MRPL that rose nearly 3%, Mahanagar Gas that pared gains but closed nearly 1% higher, and Narayana Hrudayalaya which too pared gains but closed with a loss of over 1%.
