MUMBAI: The Bombay high court on Wednesday paved the way for construction of the sixth line of Western Railway (WR) – from Mumbai Central to Borivli – after it allowed three families of a Vile Parle (E) building 15 days to temporarily vacate it so that half the building can be razed for the project.
Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Arif Doctor heard a petition by Sudhir (76) and Ashok (70) Dharia, owners of a ground-plus-two storey Shreeji Kiran building, and a tenant. The building is in two parts – one in which the petitioners reside and the other part in which three tenant families resided and was acquired for the railway line extension project.
